Technical Security Analyst

Overview:
Yoh is seeking a  Security Technical Analyst  to lead and support the implementation and execution of our client’s enterprise security initiatives. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in cybersecurity, incident response, and forensic analysis. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior staff, helping to elevate the security posture of the organization.

Job Title: Security Technical Analyst
Compensation:$50-70/hour (Depending on Experience)
Location:  Remote with occasional onsite requirements
Employment Type:  Contract (12-month duration)
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical aspects of enterprise security projects.
• Identify and assess threats to users, networks, and data.
• Monitor and respond to malicious activity and security events.
• Conduct forensic analysis and threat intelligence processing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to mitigate risks.
• Advise leadership on strategic and tactical security matters.
• Represent the security team in meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
• Create and maintain SOPs and training documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to skill development programs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years  of experience in security incident response and forensic analysis.
• Proficiency in threat intelligence and applying IOCs to prevent vulnerabilities.
• Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001/27002, PCI DSS, NIST, CIS Controls).
• Hands-on experience with:
• Hardware:  Switches, routers, servers, storage systems, mobile devices.
• Operating Systems:  UNIX, Linux, Windows.
• Networking:  LAN/WAN, VPN, DMZ, firewalls, proxies.
• Protocols:  TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, DNS, LDAP, etc.
• Databases:  Oracle, SQL, MySQL.
• Cloud Platforms:  IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
• Security Tools:  SIEM, forensic analysis tools, encryption, GRC platforms.
• Programming and malware analysis skills are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Certifications (Preferred):
  • CISSP, CCFP, CISA, CISM, CHFI, or equivalent.
