Job Description
- The IFRS 2.0 project team is responsible for implementing IFRS 18 accounting standard, which was issued April 2024, within the company.
- We are seeking a dedicated technical accounting representative to join our team and perform a critical role as we move into phase 2 of our project.
- This phase will more focus on updating the budget, forecast and MRP process, along with other additional requirements on Chart of Accounts and disclosure requirements from company group Tokyo.
- This role will work closely with the company’s various stakeholders from respective lines of business(es) to ensure compliance with new IFRS regulations, enhance budget, forecast, and MRP as well as financial reporting processes including system changes, and maintain robust internal controls.
- Work with the IFRS2.0 project team to implement IFRS18 requirements, ensuring all financial records and reports comply with the new regulations. Example activities include:
- Attend IFRS 2.0 project ceremonies as required, e.g., daily standup, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
- Understand the goals for each sprint and collaborate to deliver/implement the needed change.
- Serve as technical accounting representative on IFRS2.0 project. Example activities include understanding the new IFRS requirements including company group Tokyo HQ’s requirements, communicating with stakeholders who will be impacted by the new requirements, preparing accounting documentation and memorandum in support of the directional IFRS accounting positions for management and audit review/approval.
- Understand the current practices of divisional finance teams and GFO teams.
- Identify and analyze gaps between the current processes and updated processes, through the communication with line of business (LOB) SMEs, especially divisional finance teams.
- Educate finance personnel as necessary to comply with the updated corporate policies and IFRS.
- Revisit processes, controls and other project documentation to be align with the new requirements, in close coordination with various stakeholders.
- Accounting guidance research and documentation (i.e. IFRS)
- Financial Reporting experience, as well as process and controls documentation
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills, including note taking and tracking action items from conversations and emails.
- Detail oriented, with excellent analytical and project management, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and meet all deadlines.
- Advanced in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Power Point, and Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Charts, etc.).

- Entertainment Industry exposure
- Experience with IFRS
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum
- SAP/BW/S4 HANA systems knowledge
- B.S./B.A. – Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics
- C.P.A. (or equivalent) is preferred, not required
