Seeking a senior Systems Administrator to own day-to-day administration and optimization of our Microsoft 365 environment, endpoint management via Intune, and on-premises/hybrid Active Directory infrastructure. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable working independently, troubleshooting complex identity and endpoint issues, and driving improvements across our M365 and directory services stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support the full Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID) including licensing, security policies, and service health monitoring.
- Manage endpoint configuration, compliance policies, app deployment, and device lifecycle through Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM) across Windows, and mobile platforms.
- Administer on-premises Active Directory and hybrid identity (Entra Connect/AD Connect), including OU structure, GPOs, replication health, and directory synchronization.
- Manage user and device lifecycle: onboarding/offboarding, access provisioning, security group management, and conditional access policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated tickets related to identity, authentication, endpoint compliance, and M365 service issues.
- Support Microsoft 365 security posture: MFA, conditional access, Defender for Endpoint/Office 365, and Purview/compliance configurations.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, standard operating procedures, and change management records.
- Partner with IT leadership on infrastructure projects, including migrations, upgrades, and security hardening initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents as needed.
- 5-8 years of hands-on systems administration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Advanced, hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID).
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune for endpoint/device management and compliance.
- Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory administration (GPOs, OUs, replication, hybrid identity/AD Connect).
- Solid understanding of identity security concepts: conditional access, MFA, RBAC, and least-privilege principles.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for administration and automation tasks, including the Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on complex, ambiguous issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
- Experience in a multi-site or manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender suite and Purview compliance tools.
- Experience with Azure infrastructure administration.
