Our client in New York, New York is looking for a Senior Data & Platform Engineer
to join their team on a full-time basis and help build their analytics infrastructure from the ground up. This role involves designing high-scale distributed systems, working with modern data lakes (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks), and optimizing large-scale data processing pipelines. What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable, high-concurrency distributed systems.
- Work with cloud-based data lakes(Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks) to manage large-scale data processing.
- Develop optimized SQL queries
for performance and cost efficiency.
- Build scalable APIs
in Python and Java
to support high-volume data processing.
- Integrate and optimize semantic layers (Looker, Cube.dev) and data catalogs (Atlan, Open Metadata).
- Collaborate with product managers and data teams to design efficient and flexible data models.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in data processing pipelines.
- Implement monitoring and observability tools
to ensure system reliability.
- Contribute to the technical vision
and best practices for the engineering team.
What They’re Looking For
✅
7+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on
data engineering, distributed systems, and backend development.
✅ Strong proficiency in
Python(preferred) and
Java.
✅ Advanced
SQL skills
– experience with
query optimization
for large datasets.
✅ Experience with
high-scale data processing and cloud-based platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
✅ Strong understanding of
data warehousing and data lake architectures (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Iceberg, Delta Lake, etc.).
✅ Experience designing and developing
REST APIs and web-based APIs.
✅ Familiarity with
BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
✅ Knowledge of
task automation, orchestration tools, and DevOps best practices(Airflow, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes is a plus).
✅ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
✅ Experience managing
large-scale codebases
and implementing
software engineering best practices.
Bonus Points

Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
⭐ Background in
advertising, marketing analytics, or real-time data processing.
⭐ Prior experience as a

Compensation Information
- Hybrid 3 days per week onsite
- Estimated Min Rate/base: $200000 to Estimated Max Rate/base: $225000
- 10% bonus
- $160K in RSU's
