The Onboard Platforms team is an embedded software team responsible for the development and maintenance of the OS, software, and firmware for the compute platform powering our L1/L2/L3 autonomous vehicle compute clusters. Part of our mandate is to implement the security architecture for our onboard systems.
What you ’ ll do:
- Implement key management flows for exporting secure sensor and SECOC ECC public keys and wiring those exports into downstream provisioning and manufacturing tools.
- Build and harden key import/export services for SECOC and sensors, including OEM-specific provisioning interfaces.
- Extend key management application capabilities for REE secure storage plus private key, certificate, and key rotation with audit-ready telemetry.
- Integrate with embedded and POSIX runtimes plus vehicle diagnostics hooks so that key rotations stay synchronized across Linux and embedded boundaries while supporting UDS diagnostics.
- Collaborate with platform bring-up teams to verify end-to-end rotations on hardware and unblock deployment to fleets.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong C++development background plus Yocto-based build integration for Linux and MCU targets.
- Working familiarity with Bazel (or the ability to adopt it quickly).
- Proven experience implementing key import/export, certificate parsing/validation, and key rotation at scale.
- Hands-on knowledge of hardware security modules using vendor libraries and trust anchors.
- Comfort working on automotive SoCs with UDS diagnostics, secure storage services, and multi-domain certificate flows.
- Ability to write automated tests to validate key management service changes (typically in Python) on target hardware.
Nice to have (optional):
- Exposure to OP-TEE/libteec workflows or REE?TEE shared-memory integration (we can train fast learners).
- Experience automating OEM sensor key-rotation pipelines and camera certificate provisioning in manufacturing.
