Yoh has an exciting, direct hire opportunity for a Data Scientist supporting a leading organization in the insurance industry. This role focuses on developing, deploying, and scaling machine learning models and intelligent automation solutions that drive operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and support enterprise decision-making. The ideal candidate brings hands-on ML experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Compensation:$150–190K + bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Build and deploy machine learning models to automate workflows and enhance business decision-making.
  • Apply ML methods such as regression, classification, clustering, Random Forest, and XGBoost.
  • Work with structured and semi-structured data including claims notes and customer records.
  • Partner with data engineering and MLOps teams to ensure models are scalable and production-ready.
  • Translate research concepts into practical applications for underwriting, claims automation, customer service, and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define use cases and measure impact.
  • Support the development of reusable ML components, frameworks, and governance standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • PhD (0–1 yrs), Master’s (2+ yrs), or Bachelor’s (4+ yrs) in a quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing ML models.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and machine learning concepts.
  • Proficiency with Python and ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy).
  • Solid problemsolving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with software engineering fundamentals (Git/GitHub, testing, logging).
  • Background in insurance or financial services is a plus.


Estimated Min Rate: $140000
Estimated Max Rate: $195000.00
