Job Title: Special Ed ASD Speech Pathologist
Location:
New Brunswick, NJ
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (37.5 hours/week, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Assignment Duration (Multiple Possibilities):
Three options, two months temporary assignment
and possible extensions, temp to hire while achieving your hours needed to be certified, and a
distinct possibility of being hired directly from the client day one.
Compensation: $35.00 to $60/Hr consumart
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Special Ed. Speech Pathologist with experience supporting individuals
with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Caseload approximately 12 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ language, communication, feeding, and social needs
- Analyze and interpret diagnostic data from standardized/non-standardized tests, observations, and input from parents and teachers
- Develop and implement individualized therapeutic interventions
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services (individual and small group)
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and Child Study Teams to ensure consistency with IEP goals
- Assist in implementing behavioral programs for students with severe behavior challenges
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
- New Jersey State Speech-Language Pathology license
- New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist Standard Certificate
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellow (CF)
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience, including work with students with autism
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
- Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting per NJ state law
- Must provide documentation of a negative Mantoux test or undergo testing
- Hepatitis B vaccination required unless waived in writing
- Physically active and able to engage in play and crisis management techniques, including lifting and physical intervention when needed.
- Ability to work in a moderately noisy, dynamic environment with children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 3 ½ –21)
- Able to safely perform crisis management techniques, including blocking, lifting, and restraining individuals with challenging behaviors and SIBs.
Estimated Max Rate: $60.00
