About the Role:
The Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Specialist will manage and execute day-to-day warehouse operations that ensure accurate inventory control and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This role is responsible for receiving inbound shipments, inspecting and staging product, maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliations, and preparing/dispatching outbound shipments according to company and carrier requirements. The Specialist will partner closely with the lab manager and design teams to support smooth material flow and meet team commitments. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can balance physical warehouse work with accurate data entry and process compliance.
What you’ll be able to do: Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments; verify quantities and part numbers against purchase orders, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Unload/load trucks, stage product, and place stock in designated locations following established slotting and storage practices.
- Pick, pack, label, and prepare outbound orders for shipment; generate shipping documentation (labels, manifests, bills of lading) and coordinate carrier pickups (parcel, LTL, TL).
- Enter receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments into the inventory/WMS/ERP system promptly and accurately.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits; investigate and reconcile variances and report root causes.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and support continuous improvement projects to reduce errors, shorten dock-to-stock time, and minimize shrinkage.
- Manage returns, damage, and vendor/carrier communications as needed.
- Operate material handling equipment safely (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck) and maintain workplace housekeeping and safety standards.
- Use RF scanners, barcode systems, and warehouse software to track product movement and provide status updates.
- Follow environmental, health, and safety standards and company safety protocols, including proper handling and storage of hazardous or regulated materials when applicable.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or inventory control.
- Hands-on experience with WMS/ERP systems, RF scanning, and basic computer skills (MS Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong data-entry accuracy.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (forklift experience preferred).
- Capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs and performing prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Requirements:
- Forklift certification and/or OSHA 10 training.
- Experience with cycle counting programs and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Experience with parcel and LTL/TL carrier processes and shipping software (carrier portals, manifesting).
- Previous experience in automotive, manufacturing, or high-mix distribution environments.
- Familiarity with EH&S standards relevant to warehousing and material handling.
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification in supply chain/logistics is a plus.
