We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, problem-solving individual to join a growing manufacturing and engineering organization supporting advanced laboratory and production equipment. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Senior Manufacturing Equipment Technician will support custom automated manufacturing equipment used to produce reagents, consumables, and instrumentation within a highly regulated production environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and can contribute immediately within a highly collaborative manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilitie
Equipment Ownership
- Own manufacturing and laboratory equipment throughout the full equipment lifecycle including installation, qualification, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, relocation, and retirement activities.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Automation, Engineering, Facilities, EH&S, and Quality teams to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Support equipment commissioning and qualification activities including IQ, OQ, PQ execution, protocol support, deviation investigations, and change control activities.
- Assist engineering teams with risk assessments, qualification documentation, and equipment implementation projects
- Perform advanced root-cause troubleshooting of custom manufacturing and laboratory equipment utilizing mechanical, electrical, controls, and instrumentation diagnostic techniques.
- Lead equipment failure investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve reliability.
- Support automated manufacturing systems including custom automation equipment, integrated production systems, sensors, controls, PLC-connected equipment, and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with automation and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
Qualifications
- 5+ years supporting manufacturing, automation, or laboratory equipment within regulated production environments.
- Demonstrated experience owning equipment through installation, qualification, troubleshooting, maintenance, and lifecycle support.
- Strong root-cause troubleshooting experience involving mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automated equipment systems.
- Experience supporting custom manufacturing equipment, automated production systems, or highly integrated laboratory equipment.
- Experience working within CMMS systems including asset management, PM development, calibration scheduling, work order management, and equipment records administration.
- Experience supporting custom automation equipment or automated manufacturing systems.
- Experience supporting reagent manufacturing, biotech production equipment, or automated laboratory platforms.
- Experience participating in IQ/OQ/PQ activities, equipment commissioning, validation, and change control processes.
- Experience with CAPA investigations, deviation management, and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment, industrial controls, sensors, robotics, motion control systems, or automated manufacturing processes.
- This role requires a blend of hands-on technician execution and engineering collaboration, including equipment ownership, qualification support, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of custom manufacturing and laboratory systems.
Pay range is estimated at $50-$55/hr DOE. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, skillset, and overall qualifications.
