Senior Laboratory Scientist – 3D Bioprinting & Tissue Engineering Yoh Life Sciences is hiring for a Senior Laboratory Scientist – 3D Bioprinting & Tissue Engineering to join an innovative biotechnology company in Philadelphia, PA. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced laboratory scientist with a strong background in mammalian cell culture, tissue engineering, and/or 3D bioprinting to play a key role in the development and execution of cutting-edge precision medicine platforms.

Compensation:$75,000 – $85,000 annually

About the Role As a foundational laboratory hire in Philadelphia, the Senior Laboratory Scientist will serve as a hands-on laboratory leader responsible for executing 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering workflows while supporting the growth and development of the laboratory.

This individual will be responsible for daily production activities, primary human cell processing, client bioassays, laboratory documentation, and maintaining high standards for aseptic technique and GxP compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily production of standardized 3D-bioprinted human skin models and oncology micro-tumors using proprietary bio-inks.

  • Perform human primary cell extraction, tissue dissociation, expansion, and cell banking from fresh patient surgical biopsies.

  • Execute complex client screening bioassays, including ADME-Tox and efficacy testing, while maintaining strict aseptic technique and protocol adherence.

  • Operate and troubleshoot automated bioprinting, microfluidics, and related laboratory equipment.

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure documentation meets applicable GxP and quality requirements.

  • Monitor laboratory workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and reproducibility.

  • Support the development and implementation of standardized laboratory procedures and production workflows.

  • Assist with training and mentoring junior laboratory and production personnel as the team expands.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional scientific and operational teams to support client projects and platform development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Tissue Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.

  • 5+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in a sterile, regulated mammalian cell culture environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working with mammalian cell culture; experience with primary human cells is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering, microfluidics, or automated laboratory systems.

  • Strong aseptic technique and experience working in a regulated or quality-focused laboratory environment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment, protocols, and experimental workflows independently.

  • Strong laboratory documentation, organization, and record-keeping skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a growing, fast-paced laboratory environment and take ownership of day-to-day laboratory operations.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with 3D-bioprinted tissue models or organoid systems.

  • Experience processing fresh human tissue or surgical biopsy specimens.

  • Experience with bioassay development or execution, including ADME-Tox and/or efficacy testing.

  • Experience working within GxP, GLP, GMP, or other regulated laboratory environments.

  • Experience operating multi-axis automated bioprinters or microfluidic systems.
