We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, problem-solving individual to join a growing manufacturing and engineering organization supporting advanced laboratory and production equipment. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Sr. Engineering Technician will support manufacturing equipment used to produce reagents, consumables, and instrumentation within a highly regulated production environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and can contribute immediately within a highly collaborative manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance activities within manufacturing and laboratory environments
- Coordinate equipment calibrations and maintain service schedules
- Support manufacturing operations and automation teams to ensure efficient equipment performance and uptime
- Purchase, install, inventory, maintain, troubleshoot, coordinate service, and retire manufacturing and laboratory equipment as needed
- Create and update troubleshooting manuals and document equipment malfunctions along with corrective actions
- Assist engineering teams with assembly and support of custom automation systems and tooling
- Organize and maintain calibration, maintenance, and vendor service records
- Collaborate with Facilities and EH&S teams to maintain a safe and compliant working environment
- Support deployment and upkeep of CMMS systems and digital equipment records
- Develop and maintain spare parts programs for manufacturing equipment
- Strong hands-on manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and maintenance experience including day-to-day repair, preventative maintenance, calibration coordination, industrial/laboratory equipment support, and the ability to work independently in production environments.
- Experience owning equipment systems and programs including CMMS usage/administration, spare parts management, equipment lifecycle ownership (install, maintain, retire, vendor coordination), along with documentation and troubleshooting manual creation.
- Manufacturing/lab environment experience with high autonomy including 5+ years in manufacturing, preferably regulated/lab environments, the ability to prioritize independently in fast paced operations, and strong cross-functional communication with automation, facilities, EH&S, and engineering teams.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably within laboratory or regulated environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with industrial and/or laboratory equipment
- Experience using or administering CMMS systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong task ownership and follow-through
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Experience with biological instrumentation
- Electrical wiring and troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of LOTO and other safety procedures
- Experience supporting automation equipment and manufacturing operations
Pay range is estimated at $50-$55/hr DOE. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, skillset, and overall qualifications.
