Duration: 6 month contract
Pay Rate: $30-$40/hr DOE
Responsibilities
- Review manufacturing experimental plans to verify sample IDs and associated metadata
- Generate and provide accurate sample labels to Manufacturing to ensure traceability and consistency
- Maintain real-time visibility of sample locations across storage conditions (e.g., LN2, -80°C freezers)
- Receive incoming samples and ensure proper logging, reconciliation, and storage
- Handle and manage samples stored in cryogenic environments (including LN2)
- Manage shipping and receiving documentation for analytical samples
- Coordinate with internal teams to arrange shipping materials (e.g., cryoports/cryopods) and logistics
- Accurately record sample information (e.g., Sample ID, assay type, cell counts) in assay batching plans and tracking tools
- Physically deliver samples to analytical teams in real time to support day-of-execution activities
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies (e.g., labeling errors, missing vials, incorrect concentrations)
- Coordinate shipment of sample retains to appropriate long-term storage facilities following assay completion
- Manage assay execution schedules, monitor, and track turnaround times for sample processing and data delivery
- Maintain metrics and dashboards to provide visibility into analytical progress
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with two years of experience or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience handling biological samples in a laboratory or research environment
- Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Experience with sample tracking systems or electronic lab tools (e.g., Benchling)
- Comfortable working with cryogenic storage systems (LN2, ultra-low freezers)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Required to be on-site daily
- Familiarity with cold chain logistics and sample shipment best practices
- Experience building or maintaining operational trackers, dashboards, or metrics
