  • Proficiency in data analysis and experimental design.
  • Understanding of basic engineering documents e.g., P&IDs, PFD, General Arrangements, and Material & Energy Balances.
  • Competent in computer aided engineering tools: chemical engineering software (AspenPlus, Fathom, etc), 3d modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor)
  • Bachelor of Science degree or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines, with focus on reactor and process design and development.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry or research experience in a related field.


Research Engineer

As a Research Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, designing, developing, and implementing cutting edge technologies and processes. Your mission? To solve industry challenges, create novel solutions, and drive progress.

 Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of assigned Technology Improvement Program (TIP) activities, New Technology Notices (NTN), and other Research & Technology Development (RTD) activities.
  • Perform in depth research to identify solutions for industry specific challenges.
  • Lead and coordinate research projects, managing timelines, resources, and team members.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing research findings and tests.
  • Design detailed test plans, equipment designs, test procedures, and evaluation methods as required for assigned RTD activities.
  • Create design bases and basic engineering documents for experimental concepts necessary to advance technology improvement projects.
  • Supervise and execute standard laboratory bench tests.
  • Write procedures for operation of test equipment.
  • Facilitate cross departmental training sessions to introduce exciting new technologies.
  • Utilize innovation engineering practices to advance potential new technologies and detailing innovative solutions to improve operations.
  • Prepare compelling technical and marketing papers for industry conferences and publications.
  • Communicate project results with key stakeholders of various levels across multiple capabilities within Midrex and external partners, including senior leadership.

Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to manage vendors and project stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and organize resources to fulfill requirements in a timely manner.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Products Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of basic engineering documents e.g., P&IDs, PFD, General Arrangements, and Material & Energy Balances.

Preferred:
 
  • Competent in computer aided engineering tools: chemical engineering software (AspenPlus, Fathom, etc), 3d modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor)

Experience:
