is hiring for a Research Associate
in San Diego. You will be part of an excelling biotechnology company pioneering drug development to repair damage and degeneration to the brain, spinal cord and beyond.
Seeking a passionate and motivated Research Associate to support R&D activities, particularly in cell culture and assay development. A problem-solving mindset and a strong willingness to learn are the most valued attributes for this role.

Job Description
- Assist with tissue culture and the maintenance of a variety of cell types.
- Establish, expand, freeze, validate, and conduct experiments on cells including HEK293Ts, MEFs, iPSCs, NPCs, and neurons.
- Perform weekly bioassays to screen the toxicity of small molecules, as well as neuronal differentiations from NPCs to evaluate compound activity.
- Follow established protocols while also helping validate and refine new ones.
- Compile results into clear, well-organized formats and present findings at weekly group meetings.
- Plan and prioritize work schedules with daily/weekly input from supervisors, balancing independence with collaboration.
- Receive training in advanced techniques and conduct experiments in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and assay development.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in cellular/molecular biology or a related field, with laboratory research experience (industry or academia).
- Familiarity with and adherence to laboratory safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent written/verbal communication.
- Ability to follow Good Documentation Practices and accurately maintain an electronic lab notebook.
- Experience preparing cellular reagents according to SOPs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and sterile technique.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cellular characterization and analysis methods (e.g., immunocytochemistry, internalization assays, RT-qPCR, microscopy).
- Knowledge and experience with transfection methods (lipofectamine, electroporation, viral).
- Experience culturing and differentiating NPC-derived neurons.
- Familiarity with flow cytometry experiments.
