The Quality Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the quality systems for manufacturing and repair functions. This role involves developing and implementing processes and procedures to ensure that products and services consistently meet quality standards and comply with domestic and global regulatory standards. Employees serve customers from all over the world – from general, business, commercial, and defense aviation. Success in this role requires adeptness at analyzing quality control procedures, identifying issues, and creating solutions, while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement. This position plays an important part in keeping customers flying!
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management.
- Has at least 10 years of experience working in a quality role in the aviation industry.
- Working knowledge of quality systems in relation to FAA and AS9100 standards, and quality improvement tools.
- Understands or has experience with a robust supplier quality program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Organized, focused, and results-oriented.
- Problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Previous experience in an organization with ODA authorization.
- Previous experience with obtaining or maintaining Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) or Product Manufacturer Approval (PMA) programs.
Job Expectations:
- Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products and services meet the required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
- Manage and ensure effective inspection throughput and standardization of receiving inspection, repair station, and manufacturing functions.
- Coach, develop, motivate, and mentor direct reports.
- Oversee First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102 standard.
- Develop and report metrics that drive appropriate actions to improve processes including root cause and corrective actions.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data-driven analysis and industry best practices.
- Prepare for and manage onsite audits to include hosting external customer and regulatory auditors.
- Interface with all major aircraft manufacturers and owner operators.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, customer support, and other departments to communicate and integrate quality methodologies.
