QC Technician

QC Technician – 3rd shift needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific’s client located in Evansville, IN.
 
This position is for a major pharmaceutical company and requires someone with BS degree in chemistry, biology, or similar discipline.
 
Schedule: Training can take several weeks depending on the individual. Training will be conducted on dayshift from 7 am - 3 pm. Once training is complete, the individual will switch to the night shift from 7 pm - 3 am M-F (occasional Sunday required).
 
Key Responsibilities

• This independent contributor role consists of, but is not limited to:
• Hands-on completion of analysis of in- process and final batch test results in support of manufacturing.
• As decisions and actions are based on lab results, this position requires diligent detail in following lab procedures, record keeping and documentation, and accurate calculations and reporting.
• This role will require a successful candidate to communicate with various departments.

 
Qualifications

• The candidate must demonstrate a minimum color aptitude by scoring 50 or lower using the Farnsworth-Munsell Hue Test. Laboratory Management will also assess results screening for color deficiencies as outlined in the FM-100 test method. Candidates may be permitted one re-test. (Testing performed onsite, prior to interview process).
• Candidates must be able to lift 55 pounds.
• Dependable transportation, excellent attendance and timeliness are required
• Accurate thorough documentation and lab records are imperative
• Ability to multitask (manage multiple simultaneous samples in organized high-quality environment) is required.
• Some lab experience (preferred but not mandatory). Ability to follow lab work instructions.
• Strong commitment to safety and working safely.
• Self-motivated individual with strong output of accurate results
• Laboratory experience - basic polymer testing (ash, MFR, volatiles, color)
• ISO 17025 quality system and audit experience
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
• Extrusion molding experience
