QC Biochemistry Testing Analyst
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Pay Rate:$30–$38/hour
Employment Type: 6 Month Contract with potential for extension.
Possibility of being hired directly by the client

Position Summary:
The QC Biochemistry Analyst II is responsible for routine Biochemistry testing in a fast-paced, FDA-regulated environment within the Medical Devices/Diagnostics industry. The Customer is an international world-class manufacturer of Diagnostic Medical Devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing of raw materials, intermediates, test requests, and finished products.
  • Document test results accurately and in compliance with GDP requirements.
  • Support Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations and invalid test reports.
  • Maintain compliance with SOPs, GLP, GMP, and HSE standards.
  • Prepare for and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Assist in training for Biochemistry laboratory testing and instrument maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and support instrument validation protocols.
  • Train and mentor team members on laboratory procedures and SOPs.
  • Enter and manage data in LIMS and paper-based systems.
  • Assist with SOP revisions and LIMS maintenance/validation activities.
  • Ensure personal training is current and aligned with departmental procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and 6S activities.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization in compliance with cGLP standards.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Utilize appropriate PPE for routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Assess and mitigate safety risks in accordance with HSE Management Systems.

Conduct testing using techniques such as:
Description, pH, FTIR, Osmolality, Moisture Analysis, Solubility, Loss on Drying, Resin Ratio, Reflectance, pO? Headspace Analysis, and HPLC.

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry.
or High School Diploma/GED with ?6 years of relevant experience, or
Associate’s Degree with ?4 years of experience in a regulated laboratory setting.

Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience with a BS degree, or 0 years with a Master’s/PhD.
Strong knowledge of Biochemistry/Chemistry lab techniques and GMP/GLP principles.
Proficient in LIMS and technical writing.
Familiarity with domestic/international regulations (ISO, QSR, UL, CSA, VDE).
Experience supporting regulatory audits (FDA, MDSAP, ISO, OSHA, EPA).
Skilled in USP and EP/BP method/validation regulations and instrumentation troubleshooting.
 

Estimated Min Rate: $30.00
Estimated Max Rate: $38.00
