Project Cost Analyst

Client: Utilities and Natural Gas company
Duration: 12 month contract
Location: Hybrid – onsite 3 days per week @ Valparaiso, IN 46383
Pay: $35-45/hr. W-2 basis
Shift: M-F 8a-5p

About the Role
Our client is seeking a Project Cost Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for large capital utility projects. In this role, you’ll analyze project data, manage cost baselines, support contract administration, and provide ongoing reporting to project stakeholders. You’ll partner with project managers, engineering, and finance to ensure accurate cost performance and proactive corrective action.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and Estimates at Completion
• Perform cost analysis, variance analysis, and schedule?cost integration
• Support contract reviews, payments, invoicing, and coding (NOE, WBS, CBS)
• Produce cost reports and dashboards for project leadership
• Identify cost risks, recommend corrective/preventive actions, and support continuous improvement
• Assist with lifecycle cost estimating and performance tracking

Qualifications

• HS diploma + 8 years advanced Excel experience OR bachelor’s degree + 3 years cost/financial analysis
• Strong Excel skills; experience with Access and SAP (S4/HANA) preferred
• Experience in capital project or utility construction environments a plus
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license
