Training Schedule: First 2–3 months will be Day Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday) for FIB/TEM training
Pay Rate:$32.50/hour

Position Overview

Yoh is seeking a skilled FIB Technician to support Applied Materials’ Oregon Labs in Hillsboro, OR.
In this role, the FIB Technician will fabricate TEM samples from 300mm wafers using industry-standard equipment and perform advanced TEM/STEM analysis to support semiconductor research, development, and failure analysis activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Fabricate TEM samples from 300mm wafers using Focused Ion Beam (FIB) systems
• Perform TEM/STEM imaging, diffraction, and compositional analysis
• Prepare samples using advanced electron and ion microscopy techniques
• Troubleshoot microscopy equipment and optimize instrument performance
• Collect, analyze, and document microscopy data
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians across cross-functional teams
• Maintain cleanroom, lab safety, and documentation standards
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Education
• Associate degree in a related field such as electron microscopy, materials science, physics, or semiconductor devices preferred
Experience
• 2–10 years of relevant experience preferred
Required Skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of advanced electron and ion microscopy
• Strong experience with sample preparation, troubleshooting, and instrument optimization
• Ability to interpret and analyze microscopy data
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
Preferred Skills
• Coding or scripting experience in Python, MATLAB, or machine learning
• Experience working in semiconductor or cleanroom environments
Work Authorization
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder preferred
