Patient Support Representative
Primary Duties : The Client is recruiting for a Patient Support Representative in the Orlando area to provide administrative support for our blood donor program. This role is responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, daily scheduling of apheresis and whole blood collections; and coordinating external donor vaccinations and providing exceptional customer service to patients. This program is a critical aspect of the Orlando site operations and is a core component of the MIMIC system, as well as permits Early Stage Immunology and the mRNA Center of Excellence to provide cells and human blood samples to other of the clients’ departments.  Maintaining a sufficient pool of donors and collections to support MIMIC assays is crucial, and the ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a patient-first mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The most important and challenging aspect of the position is maintaining and balancing a large diverse pool of donors on a daily basis to support the site’s research activities.  In addition to maintaining a sufficient population of donors, scheduling daily blood collections requires someone who is committed to the company’s needs and is willing and able to identify available donors, contact them directly, and coordinate collection schedules with donors and third-party providers

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain donor records, including informed consents, immunizations, compensation, and adverse reactions reports.
  • Interface with care centers and collection sites to organize and coordinate special collections, blood testing, and vaccinations. 
  • Routinely processes compensation payments, address payment issues with donors and track elements of program budget.
  • Respond to donor inquiries and addresses concerns related to orientation, collections, and payment issues. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments
  • Handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow up with patients regarding appointment reminders, test results, or referrals.
  • Prepare and provide required reports to the Medical Monitor, Principle Investigator, and IRB.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Life Science with 1 year experience, Associates Degree in Life Science or Customer Service with 2 years' experience, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Previous experience in a medical office or call center environment strongly preferred.
  • BS degree in life sciences, Associates Degree in life sciences or customer service.

Estimated Min Rate: $21.00
Estimated Max Rate: $25.00
