Yoh is hiring an Optics Technician
for our East Bay client in Pleasanton, CA.
In this role, you will be responsible for the production of next-generation genomics instruments, including sub-assembly builds, system integration, optical alignment, testing, troubleshooting, system qualification, and final packaging for shipment. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic environment, supporting breakthrough technologies in life science research.

Responsibilities
- Assemble, integrate, and test a wide range of electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical, and optical sub-assemblies
- Perform optical alignment and basic troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and optical systems
- Support system-level integration and instrument qualification
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing and NPI engineers to resolve material or design issues
- Follow work instructions (WIs), SOPs, and production documentation with high attention to detail
- Prepare, pack, and ship completed instruments
- Maintain production equipment and support calibration tasks
- Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify and escalate production floor issues or safety concerns promptly
- Associate degree or 1+ years of technician experience in capital equipment production
- Electromechanical and optical alignment experience
- Hands-on experience assembling and/or testing complex electro-mechanical/optical systems
- Skilled in using hand tools including screwdrivers, torque wrenches, soldering tools, and wiring equipment
- Basic troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, mechanical, laser, and optical systems
- Strong team collaboration, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Effective verbal and written communication across technical teams
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Able to safely lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds
- Experience in life sciences or laboratory instrumentation production environments
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, QC, ISO 9001, IQ/OQ/PQ, lean manufacturing, and tools such as ERP, Work Orders, Arena, Oracle, QMS
- Experience with automation instruments, electrical cable building, and hand soldering
- Troubleshooting experience using oscilloscopes, DVMs, and other diagnostic tools
- Strong sense of urgency and high attention to detail
