What You’ll Be Doing:

• Occupational Health Nurse provides initial assessment, direct care, treatment and follow up of work-related health events using established protocols and procedures.
• Performs health screenings and health assessments and provide health-related counseling.
• Offer Health Coaching.
• Ensures the confidentiality of health information.
• Conducts workplace assessments and exposure follow up.
• Plans and implements health promotion strategies for both group and individual health education.
• Serves as a liaison to area physicians and hospitals.
• Makes referrals to the employee assistance programs.
• Maintains OSHA compliance.
• Leverages client needs with business needs.
• Serves as a mentor to new OHNs

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of IL
• BLS certified
• Five or more years of nursing experience of which three (3) years are in occupational health, urgent care, or ambulatory clinic
• BSN and or certification in occupational health nursing preferred.
• Knowledge of case management, workers' compensation, and governmental regulations
• Ability to make independent nursing judgments.
• Venipuncture and EKG skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly orally, verbally and in written form.
• Computer proficient
• Excellent interpersonal skills
