About the Role
The Occupational Health Nurse reports directly to the General Managers at their respective location and indirectly to the Occupational Health Coordinator. The successful candidate holds a valid nursing license in the state of Indiana and current certification in CPR/AED from American Red Cross or AHA.
Key Responsibilities
- Treatment of on-site injuries and referral to outside medical care as needed
- Case management for injured workers and facilitate return to work
- Provide medical surveillance for all employees including but not limited to annual audiograms, spirometry, vision screening, and lead testing
- Provide medical surveillance and case management
- Conduct new hire pre-employment drug and alcohol screening & coordinate medical examinations
- Participate in ergonomics assessments and job hazard analysis
- Responsible for training employees in First Aid and CPR/AED as medical responders to aid in the care of injured workers
- Responsible for training employees in Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, Violence in the workplace, Ergonomics and Heat Stress to meet OSHA requirements
- Maintain HIPPA compliant documentation
- Accountable for delivery of agreed to regional health metrics and outcomes
- Purchase all supplies required for the first aid clinic
- Develop and meet site budget expectations
- Drive increased health outcomes including reducing population health risks, managing, and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and wellbeing
- Willingness to work closely with the Safety Coordinators at the division level to recognize hazards and prevent injury
- Active RN license in Indiana
- 2 or more years hospital or clinic nursing experience in occupational (manufacturing/industrial) nursing or emergency nursing
- Excellent assessment skills in a clinical setting
- Phlebotomy
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Working knowledge of regulatory areas (ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation)
- CPR/AED Instructor
- Health coaching/certification
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse
