Nurse Practitioner - PC & Occupational Health

Primary Care / Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner  needed for a  full-time temp contract  opportunity with Yoh’s client located in  Thief River Falls, MN.

This clinic offers occupational, primary, and preventative care for their employees. Mostly urgent/acute care but some coverage of chronic conditions. The position is to cover a maternity leave starting ASAP through the end of August.
--> Ideal shifts are Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm but can be flexible.


Top Skills You Should Possess:

• Active/unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (ANP/FNP) license in state of Minnesota
• Current prescription authority
• Minimum of (3) years' experience as a provider
• Preferred experience in: Occupational/Employee Health, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Corrections, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice type setting

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assessment, triage, treatment, and education for employee health concerns (average of 2 patients per hour)
• Provide first-aid medical treatment
• Perform onsite physical assessments (pre-placement, return-to-work, fitness-for-duty)
• Ambulatory care such as treating sore throats, ear aches, rashes, pink eye, etc.
• Provide wellness materials/information
• Provide medical testing such as EKGs, pulmonary function, blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, vision and hearing screening and perform limited interpretation of tests
• Provide onsite testing for strep pharyngitis, UTI, influenza, hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia
• Respond to medical emergencies onsite and provide emergency medical care as-needed

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• Nationally Certified (ANCC, AANP)
• Current BLS/CPR (hands on courses only - no online accepted)
• Computer skills with previous experience using EMR (Epic a plus!)
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interview, teach and counsel patients and interact with clients/employers
