Mobile Device Rework Technician
Scope:
• Perform hardware rework on consumer mobile phones, including – Power rail and battery modifications, Micro-soldering/desoldering of SMD components, Installation of 30AWG wires between logic board components.
• Disassemble and reassemble various phone form factors
• Conduct basic functional tests (boot-up, display, camera, Wi-Fi, power stability)
• Use lab equipment including multimeters, soldering irons, hot air stations, and power supplies
• Follow ESD-safe practices and return functional, reassembled devices
• Provide clear documentation when needed and complete reworks on schedule
Required:
• Strong micro-soldering skills on densely populated logic boards
• Experience with mobile device teardown and reassembly
• Ability to work with 30AWG wiring and install sense resistors
• Familiarity with electronics lab tools (multimeter, soldering equipment, etc.)
• Ability to perform basic functionality testing post-rework
• Comfortable following detailed instructions and handling small components
Pluses:
• Experience in hardware R&D or engineering lab environments
• Familiarity with interpreting PCB schematics or repair guides
• Prior work with EMI shielding and reinstallation
• Documentation skills (notes, diagrams, pad identification)
• Ability to assist in debugging or identifying failure points
• Experience meeting tight turnaround times on hardware work
Estimated Min Rate: $20.00
Estimated Max Rate: $25.00
