Job Functions
- Lead daily production activities under the direction of the Manufacturing Group Lead.
- Perform hands-on assembly work while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Own production cell performance by minimizing scrap, maximizing First Pass Yield, and optimizing labor output to achieve UPLH targets.
- Adhere to production schedules to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD).
- Complete, review, and close work orders and Device History Records (DHR); ensure accuracy of all required production and quality documentation.
- Perform First Article inspections, label inspections, burst and peel testing, and label reconciliation prior to and during production.
- Set up and maintain printers and production lines for current and upcoming work orders.
- Coordinate with Logistics to ensure proper material availability and accurate lot traceability in the CEA.
- Train and demonstrate best-practice assembly techniques and proper handling of medical devices in cleanroom and packaging areas.
- Ensure associates meet all training, Standard Work, Manufacturing Procedure, and Work Instruction requirements.
- Provide training and performance feedback on associates to Group Leads, Training Coordinator, and Manufacturing Manager.
- Communicate production status, material shortages, and +QDIP results during daily Gemba or stand-up meetings.
- Support other production cells and provide leadership coverage in the absence of Manufacturing Leads as needed.
- Maintain safe work conditions and review MSDS documentation for materials used in manufacturing areas.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Manufacturing leadership.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience building medical products in a cleanroom environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven experience training others and demonstrating strong performance in a regulated manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Intermediate to Advanced).
- Demonstrated experience using microscopes for small-part assembly.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision work.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications, technical drawings, procedures, and work instructions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
