Material Handler

Material Handler needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific’s client located in Richmond, CA.

This position is for a molecular diagnostics manufacturer, and the team is looking for candidates with a high school diploma or GED with 0 - 2 years related shipping/receiving experience. Related experience with a warehouse facility.

Schedule: Normal hours would be M-F, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities
The Material handler’s main role will be supporting the distribution in all material handling functions.  These functions will include and not limited to:

• Assembling Boxes, Labeling, processing/picking ice in cold environment,
• Picking (walking), Packing (standing) carrying packages, sorting, and safety clean up.
• Meeting daily shipping objectives.
• Performs daily routine tasks; receives, stores, picks, packs, ships and/or distributes materials.
• Loads and unloads trucks, and other distribution channel storage and transportation containers.
• Prepares domestic and international goods for shipment.
• Verifies goods received against documentation.
• Performs initial quality check on incoming product.
• Stages materials and packages.
• Operates motorized and non-motorized equipment to move materials, parts, supplies and equipment as instructed.
• Assist in cycle-counts of physical inventory.
• Processes paperwork and performs SAP transactions daily.
• Assists in handling dangerous goods and hazmat materials.

 
Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Related experience with a warehouse facility.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills in applicable programs, Use of rRF scanning device
• Self-motivated to get the job done right the first time.
• Experience and ability to operate pallet jacks or applicable equipment utilized in the workplace.
• Basic problem-solving skills. Good communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work While being flexible and adaptable
• Ability to lift 50 lb. items.
