Yoh is hiring a  Manufacturing Group Lead  for our St. Paul, MN client.
 
In this role, the Manufacturing Group Lead is responsible for all production activities within assigned manufacturing cells, including Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery (OTD), Inventory (point-of-use), and Productivity (Units per Labor-Hour or UPLH) — collectively known as +QDIP. This position works closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient operations, resolve issues, maintain documentation accuracy, and provide training on applicable work instructions and manufacturing procedures. The Manufacturing Group Lead supports cell performance but is not a supervisor; rather, they contribute to performance review systems and report on the performance of their assigned cells.

Job Functions

  • Work under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager/Production Supervisor.
  • Provide leadership, model a strong work ethic, require quality workmanship, and help instill positive morale and a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • “Own” all work products of assigned cells—minimize scrap, maximize First Pass Yield, and manage labor/output to optimize UPLH productivity.
  • Adhere to the Production Schedule to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD).
  • Support and execute all required quality procedures; collaborate closely with quality personnel and the Quality Manager.
  • Direct and manage raw materials through material handling and Kanban systems to support production cells.
  • Ensure safe conditions and safe actions at all times.
  • Review MSDS information for any products used within the manufacturing areas.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and cross-training of associates to support productivity and labor deployment.
  • Demonstrate and train associates on best-practice assembly techniques and proper handling of medical devices in CEA and packaging areas.
  • Ensure all associates meet training and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure that Standard Work, MPs, and Work Instructions are used and followed.
  • Provide feedback on associates “in training” to the Training Coordinator and Manufacturing Manager/Production Supervisor. · Support First Article/label inspection before production begins.
  • Perform and support burst/peel tests as needed.
  • Support label reconciliation to ensure accuracy of product, labels, and material counts.
  • Support closing of work orders and Device History paperwork, including completion of all required documentation.
  • Record and track all material lot numbers accurately.
  • Support set-up of production cells for the next Work Order; minimize set-up and changeover time.
  • Provide direction ensuring all sterilization load configurations follow established protocols.
  • Ensure sterilization documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Support secondary operations and shipment of finished goods per established procedures.
  • Contribute to performance reviews—preparation and delivery are the responsibility of the Manufacturing Manager/Production Supervisor.
  • Provide leadership and supervision in the absence of the Manufacturing Cell Lead.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager/Production Supervisor.

Education, Licensure and/or Experience  
  • 5+ years in medical manufacturing or a regulated industry.
  • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing or supply management, including development and implementation of lean inventory tools such as Kanban.
  • Documented track record of increasing responsibility and demonstrated accomplishment.

Skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to perform complex assignments requiring leadership, creativity, initiative, and strong judgment; able to troubleshoot and recommend improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, equivalent to technical high school level.
  • Ability to read and write English at a technical high school level.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand/eye coordination.
  • Good eyesight, with or without corrective lenses; must be able to distinguish colors used in production processes.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including reaching for parts, pulling items from bins, and placing items into pouches.
