Pay:$42 – $60/hr DOE

Yoh is seeking an NPI & Sustaining Engineer (Level I or II) to support our East Bay medical device client. This role will support a team responsible for transferring consumable components from R&D into manufacturing and sustaining those components throughout their product lifecycle.
The engineer will work with high-precision plastic, glass, and silicone components used in advanced life sciences instrumentation.
This is a hands-on laboratory role, with approximately 80–85% of time spent performing lab testing and metrology work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform metrology and dimensional measurements
on high-precision plastic, glass, and silicone components
- Operate inspection and measurement systems such as Nikon, Keyence, OGP, or similar metrology tools
- Execute established test methods and measurement protocols
- Generate and compile experimental data from lab testing
- Conduct functional testing
on consumable components when required
- Perform basic statistical analysis
using Excel, JMP, or similar tools
- Document results and communicate findings to cross-functional engineering teams
- Support both new product introduction (NPI)
and sustaining engineering efforts
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience working with metrology or precision measurement systems
- Experience measuring tight tolerance plastic or glass components
- Hands-on experience in a lab, QC, or test engineering environment
- Strong data organization and analysis skills

- Experience with Nikon, Keyence, OGP, or similar inspection systems
- Experience working with injection molded plastic components
- Familiarity with basic wet lab techniques(pipetting, reagent handling)
- Experience supporting manufacturing, NPI, or sustaining engineering teams
- Experience using JMP or other statistical analysis tools
- Initial contract duration 6–9 months with potential extension
- Open to early-career engineers or recent graduates
with relevant internship or lab experience
