Job Functions
- Build and oversee the organization's Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Integrity Program, ensuring compliance with payer requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
- Manage coding, data entry, billing, accounts receivable, reimbursement, and collections activities to ensure timely and accurate revenue cycle operations.
- Conduct routine RCM risk assessments and audits across both in-house and offshore operations to identify compliance risks and implement corrective action plans.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex revenue cycle issues by partnering with clinicians, sales teams, third-party billing vendors, and internal billing staff.
- Develop, document, and implement revenue cycle policies, procedures, and workflows that align with federal and state regulations, payer contracts, and reporting requirements.
- Administer payer portals and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) connectivity with third-party payers.
- Monitor reimbursement regulations and implement operational changes to maintain compliance and maximize reimbursement opportunities.
- Analyze reimbursement data, prepare operational reports, and oversee resolution of identified billing and reimbursement issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement approved initiatives to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Collaborate with leadership to evaluate operational performance and implement process improvements.
- Train clinicians, sales teams, billing staff, and supervisors on coding, billing, reimbursement, and regulatory updates.
- Lead the selection, development, coaching, performance management, and evaluation of supervisors and staff.
- Direct daily activities of coding, billing, accounts receivable, collections, and data entry teams to ensure quality, productivity, and service goals are achieved.
- Address employee relations matters and recommend disciplinary actions when appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on achieving departmental KPI and performance goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of healthcare billing or Revenue Cycle Management experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive leadership experience managing billing or revenue cycle teams.
- Strong knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management functions, including:
- Medical billing
- ICD-10 coding
- Data entry
- Accounts Receivable (AR) management
- Remittance processing
- Knowledge of Anatomical Pathology billing and reimbursement is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with payer portals and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret reimbursement and operational performance data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven commitment to customer service, quality improvement, and operational excellence.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

- Regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must possess visual acuity sufficient to review reports, spreadsheets, and electronic documentation.
