Job Title: Mainfraime Programmer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 12 Months+ contract
Terms: Hybrid

Scope:

You will help drive the development of complex stock plan services software applications on a mainframe platform (Z/OS environment). By applying your technical expertise and business acumen, you’ll help translate strategic initiatives into robust, scalable solutions.

Responsibilties:

• Developing and supporting mainframe applications as part of an Agile team.
• Translating complex business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
• Designing and implementing application-level architecture with a focus on scalability, extensibility, and adherence to coding standards.
• Leading and mentoring development teams, providing technical guidance, feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during critical support and crisis management scenarios.
• Driving quality assurance by planning and executing comprehensive system and integration testing.
• Managing project life cycles, timelines, risks, and budgets across multiple platforms and teams.
• Partnering with stakeholders and leadership to share insights, build consensus, and continuously improve technical capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership in defining, developing, and guiding interactive teams to deliver scalable, high-quality applications.
• Deep expertise in mainframe technologies:
  
  • COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, SQL
• Strong background in mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning, including:
  
  • Reducing I/O, CPU Time, MSUs, and MIPs using tools like Strobe, iStrobe, Platinum Detector
• Hands-on experience with:
  
  • File format and comparison: File-AID
  • Version management: Endevor
  • Debugging and unit testing: Intertest, Abend-AID
  • Job scheduling: Control-M

Estimated Min Rate: $55.00
Estimated Max Rate: $60.00
