Linux Data Center Server Tech

Yoh Staffing Services is seeking a dedicated and proactive Data Center Technician (Linux)  for a long term and engaging opportunity with our large enterprise client!

Title: Linux Data Center Server Technician
Location: Plano, TX
Targeted Hourly Pay rate $28-32 per hour
Length of contract: 12 months
Onsite Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 5PM

Overview:  This role primarily involves troubleshooting downed servers (linux) and collaborating with vendors for support cases on systems under warranty. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond promptly to server outages and issues within the data center.
• Perform diagnostics on down servers, identify root causes, and work quickly to restore functionality.
• Utilize remote management tools and hardware diagnostic systems to troubleshoot hardware failures.
• Open and manage support cases with vendors for systems under warranty.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely resolution, track case progress, and follows-ups.
• Perform hardware replacements and repairs as needed, including but not limited to server components, CPUs, hard drives, memory modules, and power supplies.
• Accurately document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and vendor case details in ticketing systems. Generate reports on system outages, hardware replacements, etc.
• Work closely with internal IT teams to escalate unresolved issues or complex technical problems. Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to maintain high system availability and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of server hardware and components, including troubleshooting techniques for processors, memory, storage, and networking.
• Proficiency of Linux OS command-line.
• Experience with data center management and remote server monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with system diagnostics and management software (e.g., Dell OpenManage, HP iLO, Lenovo XClarity).
• Hands-on experience in hardware repair and part replacement in enterprise server environments.

Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in a data center, server support, or IT infrastructure role.
• Prior experience managing vendor support cases and working with hardware vendors.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Estimated Min Rate: $28.00
Estimated Max Rate: $32.00
