Laboratory Technician Lv2

Yoh Scientific is actively recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to work a contract assignment in Minneapolis, MN! 

Duration: One year contract, possibility of extension or being hired but not a guarantee. 
Work Schedule: Full-time; Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30 PM CST; some occasional rotational weekends (Saturdays or Sundays) for about 1-2 hours.
Pay Rate:$23 - $27/hour, based on experience. 

Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Technician will conduct day to day tasks supporting a molecular biology and fermentations R&D teams. Once trained, the technician will be expected to keep up with daily activities which will include, along with other general support duties, media and plate preparation, restocking of lab supplies, cleaning and sterilization of glassware, collecting and autoclaving waste, and maintaining the lab support areas of the lab. Technicians will also perform standard upkeep and cleaning protocols on multiple pieces of scientific equipment and become familiar with their general function.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Biology, Microbiology. Or related discipline preferred, but not required.
• Prefer 2+ years of laboratory experience and a good understanding of sterile techniques and excellent biosafety behaviors.
• Must have good basic math skills and computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Teams). 
• Ability to operate day to day under minimal direct supervision.
