This position is part of a major pharmaceutical company, and requires a Bachelors of Science or Supply Chain degree. Schedule is full-time M-F (7am-8am start time, 8 hour shift) and may require flexibility to work some evenings and overtime due to projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all site logistics activities including domestic and international shipping operations. Obtain and maintain DOT/IATA certification and perform final packaging for biological sample shipments (40+ shipments per week). Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Maintain comprehensive record keeping for all shipment-related documentation. Track shipments, manage shipping timelines, conduct risk assessments, and ensure proper documentation for regulatory compliance and audit purposes.
- Develop working relationships with scientists to troubleshoot and assist with their shipping needs.
- Provide shipping guidance, timeline development, and logistical support to ensure successful transfer of biological samples both domestically and internationally.
- Communicate effectively with scientists and management to accomplish operational goals.
- Facilitate the transfer of materials between groups both on-site and internationally. Coordinate logistics, manage permits and shipping activities, and ensure proper handling and documentation throughout the transfer process.
- Support vendor management activities related to shipping operations including coordination with shipping vendors, evaluation of services, and maintenance of vendor relationships.
- Assist with reagent inventory management activities including receiving shipments, basic inventory reconciliation, and coordination with reagent management team to support site operations.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable quality, corporate, safety, and regulatory requirements with particular focus on biological sample shipping regulations, hazardous materials handling, and site security protocols.
- Source and order shipping materials and consumables through eBuy and maintain accurate inventory records.
Qualifications:
- Degree in biological sciences or supply chain from an accredited University, B.Sc.
- Previous experience in research and /or laboratory setting
- Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, interfacing with multiple functions and external partners
- Good organizational and prioritization skills
- Team player on receiving and sharing knowledge/expertise in a cross-functional team
- Able to work in agile team environment.
- GRP, compliance requirements for clinical trial samples.
