Lab Technician - Tissue Culture

Yoh Scientific is actively recruiting for a Lab Technician (tissue culture) to work a contract to potential perm assignment in Gainesville, GA! 

Duration of assignment: Temp to perm based on customer’s needs and workers performance.
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Mon-Fri. Some weekend work required, as well as overtime. 
Mon - 7am - 5pm; Tues - 7a - 4p; Wed - 7a - 2:30p; Thur - 7a - 5p; Fri - 7a -12:30pm
Lab may need to come in as early as 6am. When needed, rotating weekend hours typically are 6a or 7a until 10am on Saturday and 6a or 7a until 11 on Sunday. When working the weekend, typically will get the prior Wednesday off.
Pay Rate Range:$19 - $21.40/hour, based on experience. 

CANDIDATES CANNOT HAVE PET BIRDS OR CHICKENS OF ANY KIND AT HOME. IF SO, THEY ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE.

Responsibilities: 
Assists in all areas in the production of Marek's disease vaccine. Which may include, but are not limited to:

• Performing all processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Always utilize sterile technique.
• Active knowledge of working under laminar flow hoods and HEPA filtered environment.
• Communicates any occurrence to team leader and/or supervisor immediately.
• Responsible for always keeping the lab area clean and sterile.
• Individual monthly responsibilities are assigned in each lab.
• Individual must ensure these activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assists in receiving roller bottles in labs and receiving roller bottles in holding area.
• Assists with the candling and racking of eggs in Incubation department
• Maintains accurate and timely manufacturing records.
• Actively promotes safety and awareness in the lab, always acting in occurrence with safety practices.

Requirements: 

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent with laboratory experience. 
• Experience with sterile technique, tissue culture, etc. preferred. 
• Must be able to be fully trained in a timely manner on sterile technique and general lab procedures.
• Must be a team player.
• Must have ability to work under deadlines, ability to multi-task and be self-motivated. 
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry it 10 ft.
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time and work in a sterile environment.
• Regular attendance is a must including flexibility to work overtime.
