Shift:  10-Hour Day Shift (Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Job Summary: We are seeking a  Focused Ion Beam (FIB) Technician  to support sample preparation and metrology in a high-tech lab environment. This role involves hands-on work with FIB, SEM, and TEM tools, supporting engineering teams in evaluating process systems and preparing high-precision samples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare samples for experiments (coating, cleaving, mounting/unmounting).
  • Create TEM lamella samples using FIB and optimize preparation procedures.
  • Operate metrology tools to analyze cross-section and top-view critical dimensions.
  • Perform SEM/FIB system maintenance (e.g., flash, plasma cleaning, calibrations).
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate tool maintenance and repairs.
  • Communicate with requestors and engineering teams regarding job requirements and results.
  • Monitor job queues and maintain lab throughput.
  • Document lessons learned to reduce rework.
  • Operate supportive metrology equipment and track performance.
  • Follow lab protocols, SOPs, and safety procedures.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a lab or semiconductor environment.
  • Proficiency in SEM, FIB, and TEM principles and operations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with lab project ownership or mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to create or improve SOPs.
  • Understanding of sample/beam interactions and image quality optimization.


Estimated Min Rate: $20.00
Estimated Max Rate: $25.00
