Lab Tech

Yoh is seeking a Lab Technician for our Palo Alto client. In this role, you will support clinical testing operations by preparing, processing, and tracking biological specimens. You will also assist in maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation and support quality control procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.

Schedule: M–F standard working hours (40)
Compensation:$35–$48.50/hour
Type:  3 months (13 week contract)

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, and prepare clinical samples for laboratory testing according to standard protocols
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including setup, programming, cleaning, and troubleshooting
• Prepare reagents and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies
• Perform and document quality control procedures, including equipment function checks and environmental monitoring
• Enter, review, and correct data in laboratory information systems
• Assist with training new staff and improving workflow processes
• Maintain safe laboratory conditions and uphold strict confidentiality of patient data
• Respond to staffing or workflow changes, and perform other lab support tasks as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of college coursework in biology or a related field plus 3 years of laboratory experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of lab experience
• Hands-on experience in sample handling, reagent preparation, pipetting, centrifugation, or similar technical lab procedures
• Familiarity with automated instruments and ability to troubleshoot operational issues
• Proficient with computers and intermediate to advanced Excel
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage large volumes of samples accurately
• Must adhere strictly to lab procedures and safety guidelines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
