Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, testing, and engineering of REST APIs on our Envoy-based API marketplace platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and maintainable API solutions.
- Contribute to strategic roadmap initiatives, improving and supporting our API platform infrastructure.
- Perform code reviews, troubleshooting, and ensure adherence to API standards and security requirements.
- Drive the adoption of new API products and decommission legacy assets aligned with enterprise goals.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in software engineering and API development.
- Support cloud deployments and migration efforts, especially towards Kubernetes and Azure environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with API development, particularly RESTful APIs.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17+), Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Web Services.
- Extensive experience with API gateways, SwaggerHub, and API design best practices.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Jenkins and Maven.
- Practical knowledge of Docker, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with UNIX and Windows environments, IDEs like Spring Tool Suite and Eclipse.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience with Azure or Amazon EKS.
- Knowledge of API security (JWT, OAuth, Key Management).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and external identity mapping.
- Experience with observability tools like Datadog.
- Advanced degree or certifications in related fields (optional but beneficial).
- At least 6 years of professional API development experience, including leadership or mentorship roles.
