Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst to support a critical, regulatory-driven IT Asset Management initiative focused on strengthening enterprise asset governance, inventory accuracy, compliance readiness, and operational maturity.
This role will play a key part in supporting compliance obligations related to asset inventory management, including regulatory requirements, audit readiness, and enterprise governance standards. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on IT Asset Management experience and understands how asset lifecycle management, ownership accountability, and inventory integrity impact business operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
This is not a traditional Project Coordinator or Business Analyst position. We are looking for someone who understands IT Asset Management as an enterprise capability and can actively contribute to operational execution, process improvement, data remediation, and governance initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesIT Asset Management Operations
- Analyze and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities within enterprise IT Asset Management processes.
- Support hardware and software asset lifecycle management activities, including inventory accuracy, ownership validation, lifecycle governance, and asset reconciliation.
- Partner with stakeholders to improve asset inventory quality and ensure asset records remain complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Assist in developing and sustaining scalable ITAM operating practices that support organizational growth and regulatory requirements.
- Drive remediation efforts to resolve inventory discrepancies, ownership conflicts, lifecycle issues, and governance gaps.
- Support and enhance ServiceNow ITAM processes utilizing:
- ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM)
- Software Asset Management Pro (SAM Pro)
- Hardware Asset Management Pro (HAM Pro)
- Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- Validate asset-to-CI relationships and ensure alignment between asset records and configuration data.
- Assist with asset reconciliation, lifecycle management, governance controls, and reporting within ServiceNow.
- Support maintenance of ServiceNow as the system of record for enterprise asset management activities.
- Support regulatory, compliance, audit, and governance initiatives requiring accurate asset inventory management.
- Assist with evidence collection, documentation, and control validation activities.
- Ensure asset management practices support enterprise governance standards and audit readiness.
- Partner with cybersecurity, risk, compliance, procurement, finance, and technology teams to support policy adherence and regulatory obligations.
- Perform detailed analysis of asset inventory data to identify trends, data quality issues, process gaps, and compliance risks.
- Develop recommendations for process improvements that enhance inventory integrity and operational efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives supporting mergers, acquisitions, and organizational growth.
- Help prevent compliance drift by promoting sustainable asset management practices across the organization.
- 3+ years of hands-on IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience.
- Strong understanding of:
- Asset Lifecycle Management
- Asset Governance
- Asset Inventory Management
- Software Asset Management (SAM)
- Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
- Asset Compliance and Ownership Controls
- Hands-on experience with:
- ServiceNow ITAM
- ServiceNow SAM Pro
- ServiceNow HAM Pro
- CMDB
- Understanding of relationships between ServiceNow ITAM modules and CMDB.
- Experience supporting asset reconciliation, inventory management, and governance initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal oversight.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience supporting regulatory, audit, compliance, or governance-focused programs.
- Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale asset management programs.
- Familiarity with NYDFS, audit readiness, evidence management, and control validation activities.
- Experience working in organizations undergoing mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale technology transformations.
