The Triage Engineering team is responsible for verifying and validating performance across the autonomy stack and all driver assist features using in-vehicle testing, simulation, resimulation (simulation using vehicle sensor logs), and bench testing. Our team enables requirements verification and validation by designing, executing and reviewing tests across all test modalities, providing feedback and issue identification to the cross-functional systems and software teams, and guiding progress towards company milestones.
As an Integration and Test Engineer focusing on Triage, we identify the highest priority issues arising from fleet operations and testing activities. We perform metrics analysis on vehicle and simulation logs, and we troubleshoot and categorize vehicle platform issues. We perform investigations to ensure requirements and test coverage. We dig into problems with developers and systems engineers to prioritize issue resolution across all functional areas, and to ensure our metrics accurately reflect system performance.
What you ’ ll do:
- Execute test engineering efforts with knowledge of how and why each test is conducted, and with a curiosity to dig into failures and guide the organization towards solutions
- Ask questions, tweak test cases, learn new skills, and come up with creative solutions
- Identify issues across test modalities using objective, repeatable criteria, and design and support a pipeline of tools to facilitate expeditious analysis
- Work with developers and systems engineers across all autonomy functions to create and interpret metrics
- Deep Dive into log data and guide issues into the hands of capable problem solvers
- Ensure coverage across production and regression testing suites, and identify gaps
- Discover trends in simulation testing, resimulation testing, and functional testing
- Maintain datasets, and support a pipeline of tools to aid in test execution and results analysis
- Interface with all areas of the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test organization to provide comprehensive solutions to unique problems observed within the autonomy systems, driver assist systems, and vehicle platform
- Interface with operations teams to scale triage efforts and keep up with a large-scale testing activities
