Yoh is hiring an Instrument Production Technician for our East Bay client in Pleasanton, CA. In this role, you will support the production and testing of medical device instruments by assembling and integrating optical, mechanical, and electronic subsystems. This includes performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring samples are prepared and processed accurately to support a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.

Compensation:$30–38/hr (DOE)

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and/or test complex electromechanical and optical systems
  • Use hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, torque wrenches, soldering irons, wiring tools) to build and disassemble instrumentation
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, laser, and optical systems
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet build and test goals
  • Maintain accurate records and follow work instructions or batch records
  • Operate within a clean, regulated environment following safety and quality standards
  • Utilize Windows and Microsoft Office for documentation and test tracking
  • Lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs safely during production tasks
  • Support continuous improvement efforts across the production floor
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree or 1+ years of technician experience in capital equipment production
  • Hands-on experience in assembly or testing of complex electromechanical or optical systems
  • Proficient with hand tools and mechanical assembly techniques
  • Basic troubleshooting experience with electrical/electronic/optic systems
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Windows and MS Office
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
  • Experience in life sciences/lab instrumentation production or regulated environments (GMP, GLP, ISO 9001)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, batch records, Arena, Oracle, or QMS tools
  • Experience with automation instruments, cable building, or hand soldering
  • Use of test tools such as oscilloscopes and digital voltmeters (DVM)
  • Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency in production environment
