We are seeking a detail-oriented Instrumental Analyst – ICP-OES & ICP-MS
to support the generation of high-quality geochemical data through the operation of advanced analytical instruments, including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). This role involves daily instrument operation, maintenance, and quality control, and plays a key part in the laboratory’s commitment to precision, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations while maintaining compliance with internal lab procedures.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of lab work and proactively identify and report any unsafe conditions.
- Perform daily maintenance and routine calibration on instruments such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and AA systems.
- Prepare and verify calibration standards, ensuring instruments pass system suitability tests before beginning analysis.
- Conduct instrument tuning and daily performance checks to maintain accuracy.
- Continuously monitor equipment performance to uphold strict data quality standards.
- Conduct preliminary QA/QC review and perform first-level validation of analytical results.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lab to support a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborate with other lab professionals in a respectful, team-based setting to meet client data delivery expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science is preferred but not required; equivalent laboratory experience will be considered.
- Hands-on experience operating ICP-MS, ICP-OES, or AA instruments; familiarity with Agilent systems is a plus.
- Proficient in using analytical balances and pipettes, especially for preparing calibration standards through serial dilution.
- Capable of troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on lab equipment.
- Experienced in evaluating and interpreting QA/QC data.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Estimated Min Rate: $65000.00
Estimated Max Rate: $70000.00
