is hiring for a contract Formulator
with our diagnostics customer in Longmont, CO.
The Formulator will be responsible for performing formulation activities including preparation of production materials for microarray printing, cartridge processing, and similar activities. This position will require work in human clinical diagnostics or other applications of the company’s cartridge platform.

Essential Job Functions:
- Work closely with cartridge manufacturing staff during the execution of production activities to ensure efficient operations and transfer of process.
- Assist in the development of new processes and update existing processes related to handling and formulation of biological reagents used in company products.
- Participate in the scale-up of biologics for production, procedural documentation development, and design of quality control tests to assess both component reagents and finished goods.
- Communicate findings to senior assay scientists and management and accurately document work activities and outcomes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, or related field from an accredited university.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience and demonstrated skills in production of biological formulations in a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of wet-bench laboratory techniques such as precision measurements of materials, spectroscopy, and immunoassay techniques.
- Able to effectively communicate with others, excellent written documentation skills, able to read and understand documents and follow company practices.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold and support individual and company values; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with antibody purification, chromatography, and bioconjugation chemistries as well as skill working with biomedical or clinical diagnostics instrumentation, especially systems involving microarrays, fluid handling, and fluorescence microscopy strongly preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work will be performed in both an office and a laboratory environment. Office setting will involve sitting and standing, lifting up to 10 pounds, utilizing phone and computer equipment. Laboratories handle biohazards and potentially infectious, human-derived samples such as blood products. Laboratory personnel will be trained to work in Biosafety Level 2 laboratory settings and are required to follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements. Lab process equipment may include analyzing and testing tools and the usage of chemicals and reagents. Lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds and process monitoring via visual inspection.
