Electrical Power Validation Engineer
We're looking for an experienced engineer to support the validation and analysis of power systems in a lab environment. This role is focused on hands-on testing of high-voltage components and power conversion devices, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance meets engineering standards. The position involves a mix of test execution, fixture maintenance, equipment operation, and safety oversight.
Scope:
• Follow detailed lab safety practices, especially around high-voltage and power-related test setups.
• Conduct repeatable, precise test procedures for power modules, converters, and energy storage systems.
• Run structural and performance evaluations based on engineering specs and test outlines.
• Assemble and service custom test setups, adapting hardware and instrumentation as needed.
• Operate lab instruments such as AC/DC power sources, grid simulation hardware, oscilloscopes, and probes.
• Maintain the lab workspace, manage tool calibration, and uphold compliance protocols.
• Assist in the development of automation scripts or test flows, partnering with system-level engineers.
• Coordinate closely with hardware teams to align on new test methodologies or review results.
• Document system setups, test procedures, and results in a structured and traceable format.
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in high-power hardware environments, ideally focused on validation or systems test.
• Familiarity with test equipment for power electronics and hardware debugging.
• Competence in scripting for automation or data logging, preferably using Python.
• Understanding of schematics, part documentation, and electrical interfaces.
Pluses:
• Proficiency with power measurement systems and test practices for high-current/high-voltage devices.
• Strong communication and analytical skills to interpret results and advise on fixes.
• Familiarity with energy storage components (e.g., battery packs) and failure scenarios.
• Exposure to scripting workflows used in validation labs for automation or measurement capture.
• Knowledge of power architecture for computer systems or data centers is a plus.
