Our client is seeking a hands-on Disaster Recovery Engineer
to support and enhance a growing enterprise DR program. This role is perfect for someone who is technical, detail-driven, and passionate about strengthening organizational resilience across all technology layers.
About the Role
As a Disaster Recovery Engineer, you will focus on disaster recovery testing, planning, and continuous improvement
of the company’s DR environment. You will work closely with a small, skilled team to mature the existing DR program and build a comprehensive testing framework that spans applications, infrastructure, and cloud workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute, plan, and document disaster recovery (DR) tests across multiple technologies and platforms.
- Build and improve a structured DR testing framework to expand testing coverage beyond isolated components.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to validate recovery procedures and identify gaps.
- Support program maturity by refining runbooks, processes, and DR standards.
- Assist in preparing and presenting DR test results, metrics, and recommendations.
- Participate in incident simulation exercises and drive post-test improvements.
- Strong technical background spanning infrastructure, systems, or cloud engineering.
- Solid understanding of disaster recovery principles, methodologies, and testing practices.
- Hands-on experience performing DR testing and planning (not storage engineering or building arrays).
- Experience working across multiple technology layers (applications, infrastructure, cloud).
- AWS experience strongly preferred, particularly with testing cloud workloads.
- Azure experience also acceptable.
- Broader industry experience in cloud environments with hands-on testing capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
- Experience helping organizations mature or scale their DR programs is a plus.
