Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of efficient, reliable, and scalable decision science pipelines and tools around AI/ML, optimization, and simulation models.
- Provide architectural leadership, perform design reviews, and guide system-level decision-making to ensure long-term platform scalability and stability.
- Mentor engineers and scientists on building modular, configurable, and reusable components.
- Present technical designs, performance improvements, and tool benefits to internal teams and stakeholders to encourage adoption of reusable AI/ML components.
- Define the vision and roadmap for reusable engineering capabilities that support large-scale model deployment, hosting, and monitoring.
- Foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and partner teams to define requirements, architecture, and integration strategies that deliver measurable value.
- Troubleshoot complex CI/CD and integration challenges across environments.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices around code quality, maintainability, and operational standards.
- Contribute to cross-team knowledge sharing and technical collaboration initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives from concept to deployment, balancing technical rigor with business priorities.
- Experience mentoring and providing technical direction to engineering and data science teams.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including object-oriented programming, exception handling, unit testing, and model pipeline development.
- Experience with key ML and AI frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
- Deep understanding of AI/ML methods, including LLMs, Knowledge Graphs, and Generative AI, as well as traditional ML algorithms and statistical modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering methodologies and GenAI applications.
- Understanding of distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Ray, Spark, Dask) and knowledge graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, TigerGraph, ArangoDB).
- Experience with modern DevOps and MLOps tooling, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS or equivalent).
- Solid grasp of Agile software development practices, version control, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience navigating complex technical ecosystems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of influencing across technical and business teams.
- Demonstrated success working within matrixed organizations and leading cross-functional projects.
- Experience developing applications using frameworks such as Streamlit or RShiny.
- Passion for engineering excellence—building tools and systems that “just work” for users.
- Strong focus on continuous innovation and process improvement.
- Demonstrated success mentoring and developing high-performing technical teams.
- Deep familiarity with advanced AI methodologies, including LLMs, Knowledge Graphs, RAG, and other Generative AI techniques.
- Exposure to optimization solvers and frameworks (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX, COIN-OR, CBC, IPOPT).
- Familiarity with AI/ML development platforms such as Domino Data Labs and AI code generation tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer).
- Advanced understanding of applied statistics, econometrics, and optimization.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or decision science platform development.
