We are looking for a highly analytical Data Specialist to serve as the architect of our supply chain data integrity. In this role, you will own the management of Service Bill of Materials (SBOM) and SAP Master Data, ensuring that the digital representation of our fleet matches physical reality. You will act as the liaison between the Production BOM controllers and the Aftermarket Supply Chain team, managing change requests, revision levels, and SAP parameters to ensure our planning teams have the accurate data needed to maintain fleet uptime. You will also serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP process improvements.
Scope:
1. BOM & Configuration Management
• SBOM Stewardship: Manage and maintain the Service Bill of Materials (SBOM), ensuring accurate translation from Engineering/Production BOMs to serviceable aftermarket lists.
• Platform Analysis: Analyze and document the BOM differences between various vehicle platforms to ensure accurate parts provisioning across the fleet.
• Change Management: Collaborate closely with Production BOM Controllers to manage Engineering Changes (ECOs) and ensure smooth cut-ins of new parts into the aftermarket supply chain.
• Revision Control: Manage SDS (Specification/Data Sheet) revision levels, ensuring that the supply chain is procuring and stocking the correct revision of critical components.
2. SAP Master Data Management
• Material Master Ownership: Create, maintain, and update Material Master records in SAP specifically for the Aftermarket team, ensuring all attributes (weights, dimensions, valuation classes) are accurate.
• MRP Data Integrity: Manage MRP (Material Requirements Planning) controller data settings (e.g., lot sizes, safety stock markers, reorder points) to ensure the automated planning engines run correctly.
• Supply Chain Data Maintenance: Oversee the accuracy of supply chain specific data fields within SAP to prevent downstream errors in purchasing or warehousing.
3. Process Improvement & Planning Support
• Planning Support: Provide critical data extracts and analysis to the Material Planning team to assist in forecasting and inventory optimization.
• SAP SME: Act as the Subject Matter Expert for SAP workflows within the team; identify "buggy" or inefficient manual processes and design system enhancements.
• Data Auditing: Regularly audit system data against operational reality to identify discrepancies and drive root-cause resolution.
Required:
• SAP Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SAP, specifically within the MM (Materials Management) and PP (Production Planning) modules. You should be comfortable navigating T-codes and mass-maintenance tools.
• BOM Management: Strong understanding of Bill of Materials structures, including the difference between eBOM (Engineering), mBOM (Manufacturing), and sBOM (Service).
• Data Analysis: Ability to manipulate large datasets (Excel, SQL basics) to identify trends, gaps, or data errors.
• Change Control: Experience working with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and understanding how part revisions impact inventory.
• Detail Oriented: A relentless focus on data accuracy—you understand that a single wrong digit in a material master can stop a truck at the gate.
Pluses:
• Experience in Automotive or Manufacturing supply chains.
• Experience participating in SAP implementation or migration projects.
• Knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Agile).
