Data Center Engineer – Onsite | Mahwah, NJ

We’re seeking a skilled Data Center Engineer to join our team full-time, onsite in Mahwah, NJ. This role offers a salary up to $102K plus a 15% annual bonus.
You’ll play a key role in designing and managing infrastructure within a mission-critical data center environment.
This is not a hands-on technician role. Instead, you’ll lead the planning and decision-making that drives infrastructure layout, capacity, and operational efficiency. You’ll also support installation activities, supervise project execution, and troubleshoot operational issues alongside the Data Center Operations team.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and allocate space, power, and infrastructure for new projects
• Collaborate with Facilities and Operations teams to ensure smooth deployments
• Monitor and report on capacity (space, power, cooling)
• Create and maintain documentation and change requests
• Use tools like PatchManager for design and IMAC activity tracking
• Provide reports and support for operational coverage, including weekends or off-hours as needed

 
Qualifications:

• Experience in data center design, infrastructure planning, and project management
• Familiarity with standards (IEEE, BICSI, ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, EIA/TIA)
• Knowledge of copper/fiber cabling and hardware vendors (HP, Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
• Understanding of IP networks and ITIL processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
• Certifications such as CDCDP, Systimax, or Corning NPI are a plus
