A fast-paced and growth-focused organization is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead financial operations with a focus on compliance, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with deep expertise in P&C insurance or underwriting, looking to take ownership of complex accounting functions and drive financial integrity across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. Develop scalable processes that validate transaction accuracy and promote operational efficiency.
  • Revenue & Expense Amortization: Oversee monthly amortization of service contract and provider revenue and expenses, applying cancellation logic and inception-to-date tracking across all active contracts.
  • Financial Forecasting: Build and maintain a five-year forecast using sales projections and amortization schedules to support long-term financial planning.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with senior leadership and departmental heads to build and consolidate budgets. Perform variance analysis comparing forecasts and historical data to improve future outcomes.
  • Asset & Inventory Oversight: Safeguard organizational assets through effective internal audit practices and ensure accurate financial reporting related to inventory activities.
  • Expense Monitoring: Track and analyze expenses to support operational efficiency and cost management initiatives.
  • Leadership & KPI Development: Lead financial operations, set benchmarks, and define performance metrics for functional teams.
  • General Ledger Management: Own and manage all general ledger activity, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger implementations.
  • Month-End Close & Reporting: Direct the monthly close process, prepare financial statements, and provide variance analysis for internal stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of GAAP and modified cash financials. Analyze variances and identify strategic improvements.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage tax filings and compliance activities in collaboration with external firms, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness and adherence to best practices.
  • Cost Allocations: Oversee the allocation and accounting of overhead expenses including facilities, legal, insurance, and administrative costs.
  • Business Intelligence: Utilize data visualization tools such as Power BI to track performance metrics and inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance or underwriting.
  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting required.
  • CPA certification required.
  • At least 5 years in financial management or mid-level leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial operations, with proven analytical and operational leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to deliver insights across all levels of the business.
  • Experience in group accounting and financial consolidations.
  • Familiarity with insurance reserving and loss estimation methodologies.
  • Understanding of insurance regulatory requirements related to solvency and liquidity.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and ERP tools), Power BI, and Power Pivot.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is required.

 

Estimated Min Rate: $130000.00
Estimated Max Rate: $160000.00
