CNC Lathe Setup / Operator Pay Rate: $22/Hr. To $37/Hr. (based on experience and expertise)
Location: Rochester NY
Schedule: 7:30am to 4pm (Monday to Friday) Position Summary The CNC Lathe Setup/Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision components in accordance with blueprints, work orders, and quality standards. This role requires strong technical skill, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety and AS9100 quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications to set up CNC lathe machines for production
- Set up jobs accurately according to work orders and engineering requirements
- Operate CNC lathes to produce required quantities of parts within specified tolerances
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines related to CNC operation, machine guarding, and material handling
- Move raw materials to machine areas manually or using pallet jacks
- Load materials into machines manually or with overhead cranes as required
- Remove machined parts and transfer them to boxes or pallets manually or using cranes
- Perform visual and basic dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards prior to inspection
- Complete routine CNC machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Remove burrs and sharp edges using hand tools such as grinders, files, roto?burrs, and sanding materials
- Support and promote the requirements of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100 standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Setup/Operator
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of CNC lathe operation, setups, and tooling
- Experience working in a safety?focused manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with quality systems and aerospace or precision manufacturing standards preferred
- Ability to lift, load, and move materials as required in a manufacturing setting
